We Didn't Just Expand. We Built Local Teams.
Growth is an interesting thing.
For some businesses, it means opening more branches, covering more suburbs and chasing more work.
For us, it’s always meant asking one simple question first.
Can we grow without losing what made people choose Waterite in the first place?
If the answer isn’t yes, we don’t do it.
That philosophy has shaped every decision we’ve made over the past few years and it’s the reason Waterite looks the way it does today.
We Didn’t Expand Into Regions. We Grew Around People.
One of the biggest misconceptions about Waterite is that we’ve simply expanded our service area. The reality is quite different.
When trusted members of our team relocated from Sydney to the Central Coast and later to the Southern Highlands, we didn’t want to lose the people who had helped build the business.
Instead of asking them to choose between their careers and the communities they wanted to call home, we made a different decision.
We grew with them.
Rather than servicing new regions from Sydney, we built genuine local teams around people we already knew, trusted and shared our values.
That decision still shapes the way we operate today.
Three Local Hubs. One Standard.
Today, Waterite operates from three regional hubs, each led by local people who know their communities and take genuine pride in looking after them.
Sydney
Sydney is where Waterite began, and it’s still home to our largest team.
From the Inner West, North Shore and Eastern Suburbs through to the Hills District, Western Sydney, Campbelltown, Camden and the Blue Mountains, our Sydney team supports homeowners, businesses, schools and property managers with everything from blocked drains and leak detection to roof plumbing, hot water systems and leaking shower repairs.
Despite covering such a large area, we’ve never wanted customers to feel like they’re dealing with a large, faceless company.
Central Coast
When members of our team made the move north, we didn’t keep sending plumbers from Sydney.
We established a genuine Central Coast hub with local technicians who now live and work in the communities they service every day.
Today, that team proudly supports customers throughout the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle, delivering the same communication, workmanship and attention to detail that Waterite has become known for.
Southern Highlands
The same story played out again when trusted members of our team made the Southern Highlands home.
Rather than walking away from great people, we invested in another local hub.
That team now looks after customers throughout Bowral, Mittagong, Moss Vale, Bundanoon and the wider Southern Highlands, as well as Goulburn, the Illawarra, Wollondilly and the Macarthur region.
They’re local people looking after local communities.
That’s exactly how we wanted it.
Growing Didn’t Change What Matters
As we’ve grown, plenty of things have changed.
We’ve added more vehicles, more technicians, more services and more communities.
What hasn’t changed is the standard we expect every time someone wears a Waterite uniform.
We still believe the little things matter.
Turning up when we say we will.
Communicating clearly.
Respecting your home.
Taking the time to explain your options.
Doing the job properly the first time.
Standing behind our workmanship long after the invoice has been paid.
Growth should never come at the expense of the customer experience.
If anything, it should strengthen it.
Big Enough to Help. Small Enough to Care.
We’re proud of how far Waterite has come.
But we’re even prouder of how we’ve grown.
Not by chasing every postcode.
Not by stretching ourselves too thin.
And not by compromising the values that built the business in the first place.
Instead, we’ve built strong local teams, supported by one shared culture, one shared standard and one shared goal – delivering the kind of service we’d expect in our own homes.
Whether we’re working in Sydney, the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, the Southern Highlands, Goulburn, the Illawarra or Wollondilly, we want every customer to feel like they’re dealing with a local business that genuinely cares.
Because they are.
That’s what Waterite has always been about.
Big enough to get the job done. Small enough to care. 💙
